Bonnen Kare is a guest house located on the secluded Anse Consolation, a peaceful beach on the very south of the island. Ideally situated, Bonnen Kare is 10 minutes away from Grand Anse (Praslin’s main district), 15 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the ferry station (by car). The bus also passes near the house, so it is quite easy to get there.
The nearest basic grocery store is a 5-10 minutes’ walk away, and the nearest restaurant is at Coco de mer Hotel which represents a 10 minutes’ drive.
Bonnen Kare is originally the name of a Seychellois tree the flower of which opens at night and its fruit is oddly square, hence its name (bonnen kare means square hat in Créole). Such a tree stands next to the house, and has given its name to it.
The house was constructed nearly half a century ago, and has been very well maintained since, the latest renovation was in 2013. It stands in front of the sea, a little higher than the beach level, and has an outstanding view.
As the photos show, the house is as close to the sea as its gets! It is truly a privileged location, and provides the serenity, peace and quiet that visitors look for. The patio facing the sea (front view) is ideal for sunbathing or just relaxing with a drink whilst watching the boats go by.
House Description, features :
Bonnen Kare has four bedrooms, each one with its own bathroom, two downstairs and two upstairs and can accommodate 8 persons comfortably. It is ideal for large families but at the same time a couple can rent the villa as prices vary from 2 persons to 8 persons.
The house also has a kitchen, a laundry, a large living room, as well as a dining room in the veranda facing the sea.
We also provide a cleaning service, and breakfast and meals are available on request, especially if you want to taste the authentic Créole cuisine.
All the rooms and dining room face the sea to a magnificent panoramic view across the ocean. The cove in front of the house is safe for swimming for both adults and children. The rocks around the cove provide excellent snorkelling sites where fishes of different varieties abound. Even the resident turtle can, if you are lucky, make your day! Remember also that with so much marine life around, fishing at Anse Consolation is a great experience too, whether it is for eating or just for the fun of it.
The beach only counts two houses, including Bonnen Kare, making Anse Consolation a calm and privileged location where you will easily feel at home.
